Deep snow skiing has been around for a long time. What is the difference between deep snow skiing and freeriding? The clear difference is that the freerider is simply more playful and plays with the terrain structure. Driving fast and straight ahead is not particularly difficult on the piste or off-road. Fast, reactive changes of direction, the differentiated adjustment of the skis to the different snow conditions - at the same time not losing sight of the risk patterns of the current avalanche situation - that and a lot more make a good freerider.
